Rías Baixas

Rías Baixas Designation of Origin is located in the Northwest of Spain, in the region of Galicia, where there are four other denominations of origin.

It was created in 1980 as a specific denomination and in 1988 it was recognized as a denomination of origin.

Its main characteristic is the permanent green of its landscape and the influence of the Atlantic Ocean.

One of the determining factors of the Rías Baixas DO is the commitment to native varieties, resistant to the climate typical of this area, like Albariño, the main variety of this denomination.
