Álvaro Palacios, the person who gives this winery its name, would start from a family winery in La Rioja, to undertake this wine project in the DOQ Priorat. In search of a new area, he finally opted for Catalonia, a territory with clear essences, Mediterranean sun, a good climate, more than 3,100 hours of sunshine … all this gives rise to wines with a great personality.

His first vintage would come in 1989 from the hand of a winery that he formed with 3 friends in Gratallops, later each one would have his own winery. His wines would begin to stand out thanks to an auction in New York, where a bottle of his would be sold for 68,000 pesetas. Among its wines, l’Ermita and Camins stand out, two of the best sellers and which are aimed at totally different audiences.

Its enthusiasm and knowledge to make great wines makes it one of the most prestigious wineries on the national scene.
