Pegaso
This extraordinary vineyard adrift knew neither winemaker nor engineer nor winemaker; it was an orphan.
In 1999 the adventure began.
First, they recovered the Arrebatacapas hillside, the most important expression of Pizarra in all of Gredos. They ploughed their vineyards again and Pegaso Barrancos de Pizarra was born. A little later, they found other corners with equally interesting granite soils.
They fought for a category that did not exist. They made an ambitious wine in order to guarantee the survival of those impossible vineyards. It wasn’t easy but they succeeded.
Today Cebreros is an international category and its slate and granite ravines express all the purity of the different places of this extreme place.
