In 1924 Josep Mata Capellades began in the world of sparkling wine, pick and shovel, he began the construction of the cellars just below his house, in the historic center of Sant Sadurní d’Anoia. Josep will be a pioneer in the production of Brut Nature sparkling wines, working with oak barrels and in long-aged cellars.

In 1962, the first harvest of a new idea would arrive, the private reserve of Recaredo is made for the first time, which represents the Mediterranean in its purest state. Recaredo has been certified in biodynamic agriculture since 2010, to respect and ensure what is truly important: that there is life in the vineyard.

As the result of a job well done, Recaredo is chosen as the best winery in Catalonia 2017. The attention to detail in both the winery and the vineyard, maintaining generation after generation the commitment to make wines that prioritize craft and craftsmanship, and of course, continue acquiring the highest quality levels in these processes, is what makes this winery unique.
